Evangeline Ghastly

Image
"The weather on the night of Evangeline’s birth was as expected. The wind was howling, the moon was full, and the doctor was unavailable. And so begins the story of Evangeline Ghastly. With a mysterious diary entry, a pet skunk named Mouette, and fashions right out of a Victorian novel, Evangeline is definitely . . . a whole other story! Evangeline is what most people would call unfortunate; she likes to think she is just misunderstood. Born on 24th April, 1924, in Ipswich, England. Evangeline Ghastly is a quirky girl who lives in the attic of Barkley Manor, where she was born - totally unaware that this may not be the norm. She spends most of her time alone, but she really doesn’t mind at all. She’s a self-taught seamstress who enjoys sewing and creating all of her outfits from vintage pieces she finds laying around the attic, although she’s not quite sure who left them here. Evangeline wears her new outfits when walking through the cemetery, writing in her diary or as fashiona

Prudence Moody

Image
"Prudence Moody is Ellowyne's best friend. In fact until recently she was her only friend. They were both born on the same day and both enjoy shopping at San Francisco thrift stores. They have been in all the same classes since they were first began school." She wasn't a very popular doll as far as I can tell. There seemed to be quite a variety of Prudence dolls available, most of which were lesser price than her counterpart Ellowyne. However, I had no intention of purchasing her based on price alone. Fortunately for me this gal appeared and I was immediately attracted to her by the shade of her gorgeous locks. Mind you her costume was also stunning, so home she came. TONNER STOCK PHOTO

Penn

Image
It appears there's very little written about Penn, so I had difficulty in piecing his back story together. I searched the internet, but couldn't find anything to tell me where he came from or how he came about being introduced to Ellowyne. I also wonder why Robert Tonner never gave Penn a surname? However, I was happy to receive this handsome chap, he is certainly more attractive than Rufus.

Ellowyne Wilde

Image
"Ellowyne is 19 years old and lives in a big Victorian home in San Francisco that is owned by her grandmother. It sits directly on the earthquake fault line. She doesn't mind because she is always so bored at least that offers an element of uncertainty. Her father is an architect and her mother died when she was young. She was born in a funeral home into a family that suffers much depression and turmoil. It's no wonder she is always tired, indecisive and bored. Her therapist of seven years, Dr. Elaine Bantam, has diagnosed Ellowyne with chronic ennui (pronounced ahn-wee) . . . a feeling of weariness and dissatisfaction . . . with a touch of melancholy. Dr. Bantam notes that she dresses in the most remarkable outfits she finds in the San Francisco thrift stores, and looks lovely, but rarely feels like going out. She encourages Ellowyne to keep a journal and write poetry to chronicle her feelings. Ellowyne writes that her thrift store shopping trips seem to help her c

Parnilla Ghastly

Image
"Parnilla Ghastly - what an odd name? What an odd life! I guess it makes sense that an odd name and odd life would go hand in hand. Although my life didn't start off that way. At the age of six my parents and I moved from our ancestral village of Ipswich, England to Paris, France. I was told it was to start a new life. I think it was because my parents really enjoyed the croissants. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about that so far. Living in Paris was quite nice. Who wouldn't love it? The architecture, the food, the people and especially the young French boys! I don't remember much about my life before leaving Ipswich, but I do have a fuzzy memory of one thing. It was Christmas time and I was at a party. It was quite crowded. But for some reason I only remember a dark haired young boy (wearing a large top hat), and a young girl that had very long black hair and she was sitting by herself - for some reason she looked vaguely familiar, but I'm not sur

Lizette Dionne

Image
"Lizette Dionne is the newest of the Wilde Imagination group. She moved to San Francisco from New Orleans. Ellowyne met her in the waiting room at their therapists office. Lizette loves to tell stories about her home town." Fabulous doll with a fantastic skin-tone. Beautifully dressed and accessorised. I couldn't have been happier when she arrived . . . she was in pristine condition, not a hair out of place . . . she was perfect in every way! TONNER STOCK PHOTO
