Barkley Manor

Although this photo of Avebury Manor, which was built in the 1550’s, is not in Ipswich, but in Marlborough Wiltshire, it encompasses everything that I imagine Evangeline's home, Barkley Manor, would look like.

It even has the attic room, where Evangeline spends her time sewing and creating all of her outfits from vintage pieces she finds laying around the attic. I can almost see her sitting at an old desk, writing in her diary and dreaming of her heart's desire . . . the young Mortimer Mort.

Barkley Manor, the ancestral home of the ancient Ghastly family, whose family tree dates back to the early 1500's, is where Evangeline was born and where she still lives, all alone . . . could you imagine what it would be like to live alone in a home like this?

I feel quite sorry for Evangeline, especially at this time of year, when everyone else is celebrating Christmas with their families.

  1. Thank you for accepting my invitation Linda, also for your kind words. This blog will be just for my Tonner/Wilde Imagination dolls and over time their back stories will merge with my own. It probably won't be as busy as my main blog, so it shouldn't intrude too much on your time.
    Big hugs,
    X
